Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Welcome to AskEditor ("Company", "we", "us", "our"). AskEditor is an AI-powered platform for creating, editing, and publishing video and marketing content. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or our practices, please contact us at support@askeditor.com.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

Personal Information You Provide to Us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us when you create an account and use the Service.

Examples of personal information we collect include: names, email addresses, and contact details; usernames, passwords, and account preferences; and billing information. Payments are handled by our payment processor, and we do not store your full card details on our servers.

Content You Provide to Us

In Short: We collect and process the content and materials you upload or create in order to provide the Service.

To use AskEditor, you provide content and materials that we process to create and edit your projects. This may include videos, images, audio, text and prompts, brand and product information, and website or reference links you choose to share. We process this content to operate the features you use, generate your results, and store your projects so you can return to them.

Information Collected Automatically

In Short: Some information, such as your IP address and usage data, is collected automatically when you use our Website or App.

This may include device and usage information, such as your operating system, browser type, IP address, language preferences, general location (such as country), and how you interact with the Service. This information is used for analytics, troubleshooting, and to maintain the security of our Website and App.

2. How Do We Use Your Information?

In Short: We process your information to provide and improve the Service, based on legitimate business interests, contractual necessity, legal obligations, and/or your consent.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including creating, editing, generating, storing, and exporting your content and projects.
  • Power AI-assisted features you choose to use (see Section 3).
  • Process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Communicate with you about your account, respond to support requests, and send service and product update emails.
  • Analyze usage to understand, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Connected Accounts and Publishing

Our Service lets you connect third-party accounts, such as YouTube and other social media platforms, so you can publish or schedule the content you create directly to those platforms. When you connect an account, we access only the information and permissions needed to do this, and we act on your behalf and at your direction. You can disconnect any connected account at any time through your account settings or through the relevant platform's own security settings.

YouTube Data

In Short: If you connect YouTube, we access and process your YouTube data to provide the features you request, such as publishing your videos and showing insights about your channel.

When you connect your YouTube account to our Service, we may collect and process data from your YouTube account, including but not limited to:

  • View counts, subscriber counts, and other statistical data about your videos.
  • Tags and keywords associated with your videos.
  • Analytics data such as watch time, audience retention, and engagement metrics.

We request the following permissions:

  • View your YouTube account: This allows us to access and analyze your YouTube data. (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly)
  • Manage your YouTube videos: This allows us to upload videos you create in our editor directly to your YouTube channel on your behalf. (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload)

Disclosure: AskEditor's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking Access: You can disconnect your YouTube account and revoke our access at any time through your Profile Settings in AskEditor, or directly through your Google Account permissions.

Email Communications

In Short: We send you essential service emails. We may also send you occasional product updates, which you can opt out of at any time.

Service emails: When you create an account or use AskEditor, we send transactional emails required to operate the Service, for example, email verification, password resets, billing receipts, and notifications about activity on your projects (such as comment replies and mentions). These emails are part of the Service itself and are not optional while your account is active. You can manage some categories of activity notifications via your account settings.

Product update emails: From time to time we may send you product updates about new features, improvements, and tips for getting more out of AskEditor. We send these on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping users of our Service informed about the product they use, and in reliance on the "soft opt-in" for direct marketing under Regulation 22 of the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You can opt out of product update emails at any time, with no effect on your account or your ability to use the Service, in either of two ways:

  • Click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any product update email.
  • Toggle off Product update emails in your account settings.

We will never share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Product update emails are sent through our email delivery provider, which processes your email and basic profile data on our behalf solely to send these messages.

3. How We Use AI and Third-Party AI Providers

In Short: We use trusted third-party AI providers to power our creative features. We share only what is needed to perform the task you requested, and we do not use your content to train our own models.

To generate and edit video, images, audio, voiceovers, and written content, AskEditor relies on third-party artificial intelligence and machine-learning service providers. When you use an AI-powered feature, the inputs needed for that specific task, for example a prompt you write, a clip or image you want transformed, or text to be turned into speech, are processed by these providers on our behalf so we can return your result.

  • We share only the data reasonably necessary to perform the task you requested.
  • We do not use your uploaded content to train our own AI models.
  • We engage our AI providers to process your content solely to perform the requested task on our behalf, not for their own independent purposes.
  • We may update the specific providers and technologies we use over time as the field evolves. A current list of the categories of service providers we rely on is available on request.

4. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

In Short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide the Service, to protect rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

We may share your information in the following situations:

Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These providers only have access to the information needed to perform their tasks and are obligated to protect it. The categories of providers we use include:
