Connect

  • Claude or ChatGPT desktop app: install the AskEditor plugin. It opens the editor beside the chat. Steps: Claude, ChatGPT.
  • Claude Code, claude.ai, Cursor or any MCP client: add https://mcp.askeditor.com/mcp and approve it. Steps for each client: Connect over MCP.
Signing in uses your AskEditor account through OAuth: no key to copy.

First edit, in plain language

Once connected, this is a conversation, not code:
“Open my latest AskEditor project beside this chat.” → the agent calls list_projects, open_project and get_editor_url, and the editor opens. “Cut the long pauses and add captions.” → the agent reads what the clip says with get_clip_transcript, cuts the timeline, adds the captions, and looks at the result with watch_edit before telling you it is done. “Export it.” → the agent calls export_video, then get_export until the film is ready, and gives you the download link.

What it costs

Editing is free. Paid work (generated video, pictures, voices and music) uses your AskEditor credits, and anything that costs more than a few credits, or deletes something, asks you first. See Connect over MCP and askeditor.com/pricing.
